on pricing commissions

it's so difficult to put a price on your work. I know I seldom take commissions (actually I don't want to because of the time it consumes). For now, I treat it as a hobby. But when I am asked, it's difficult to gauge how much the customer is willing to buy my work. One time, I put a price on one which I thought was reasonable and realized it was too low. Fortunately, it was a friend and told me she'd double the price. That is good. But when  I applied the same principle to a couple of guys who had expressed their interest in commissioning me, they backed off. 

I might need to take commissions more seriously and as soon as possible because my office job is not doing its part and I can't leave just yet until I have all my required documents done. I know. I have a lot of issues.
